As a part of my bachelor's degree study programme, I had to study or work one semester abroad. I chose to work in a stable and hopefully gain more experience and be inspired by the daily work with horses.
My decision fell onto Geotrade Equestrian in Cromvoirt, Netherlands with riders Maxime van der Vlist and Levi Driessen. At the end of February I moved to the Netherlands for 5 months with Casi and looking back I can only say one thing - What an outstanding experience. I developed so much as a rider and person. And I would lie if I didn't give the credit to Maxime. Obviously this job is team work, probably more than anything else, except hard work, but it is always what you make out of it. During my time I felt like I did not work one day. My time was simply wonderful. I met a lot of awesome people that I am happy and proud to call my friends now and even though that I'm back in Germany now, we are all in contact daily.
Coming to terms with riding, my horse was not that happy the first weeks. In the stable he was fine, but with riding he was rather tense and didn't feel well. It was quite frustrating at times. Still, we managed to get him back and damn - he exceeded all my expectations. We learned so much as a team. He made me smile every day and fought and worked for me harder than ever. This horse is truly one of a kind. We really came a big step further to our dreams and to our next goal to ride PSG. We may not be there yet, but we are getting there. Thank you so much Maxime. This is your effort.
